Playing Career

Matt Alvarez earned a scholarship to Boston College where he competed in the ACC for four years and earned his BA in Developmental Psychology with a minor in Sports Psychology. He served as both a starter and a closer where his FB would regularly reach 95mph.

He went on to sign with the Kansas City Royals where he played four seasons in their minor leagues, ultimately reaching AAA. During his professional career he served mainly pitched as a closer, known for reaching 99mph. Ultimately his career was cut short by nerve damage in his elbow that forced him to end his career.

Dedicated to the Journey

After Matt's playing career ended in 2017, he got certified as a sports performance coach with a focus in corrective movement exercise, biomechanics, and sport specific-strength training. He began his career as a trainer by developing a highly successful player development program serving players in eastern PA. His  program quickly became recognized by players, college coaches, and professional organizations as a premiere option design for players to optimize their potential.
